High School Gymnasium construction update

The new multi purpose facility at the High School was officially named at the Monday night Board meeting; Glenn Townes Memorial Fine Arts Center & Gymnasium.  The new facility will have a large foyer and concession area to serve as a snack bar for students during the day and a concession area for ball games. The gymnasium will seat approximately 720 for events and the bleachers will retract to provide two full size courts for practices. There will be a large stage to host plays, banquets, musicals, and graduation. The new facility will be equipped with locker rooms for athletic events and a fine arts classroom behind the stage.

Construction is moving ahead with the masonry 95% complete and the drywall 60% complete. Painting, electrical, and hardware will be installed over the next few weeks. Our target completion date will be late May; before graduation.
